Direct deposit
Direct deposit allows you to received the amounts to which you are entitle directly to your bank account.
Benefits of registering for direct deposit
- You will receive a payment directly in you bank account once a month (on the first day of the month or the preceding business day)
- have immediate access to the deposited money
- avoid delays caused by holidays, postal slowdowns or lost cheques
- save time by avoiding visiting the bank each month to deposit the check
There are two ways of registering for direct deposit
- When filling out the online application (for information how to apply visit: Welfare / Social Assistance by completing the section that allows you to sign up for direct deposit in the Application for Services form (3003-01) and enclosed a blank cheque with your application.
- Fill the Direct Deposit Registration Form (SR-2301-01A) and bring it in person to 287, Notre-Dame West along with a blank cheque. Make sure you check the ‟Registration” box on the form
Note: If you do not have access to a printer, you can get the form at the 287, Notre-Dame West office
Important: Be sure to enclose either a blank cheque marked ‟Void” or a bank statement from your financial institution.
If you already register for direct deposit and wish to change your banking information
You must fill the Direct Deposit Registration Form (SR-2301-01A) and check the ‟Change of account” box. Bring the form in person to 287, Notre-Dame West along with a blank cheque marked ‟Void” or a bank statement from your financial institution
