  Services Offered

  CACI offers two separate streams for employment resources. The employment assistance service is meant for those who have a good knowledge of French and are ready to find a job as quickly as possible. Their program for immigrants using social assistance is geared toward those who have more trouble finding a job. As part of this program they offer English and French classes, computer courses, employment workshops, and cultural outings. A monthly supplement is added to the amount received from social welfare.

  The Refugee Centre hosts employment workshops every two weeks, which include the opportunity to get one-on-one advice from a mentor. The workshops are held on Zoom, and laptops can be provided by the Refugee Centre if you do not have one. They also partner with Montreal companies who post job offers on their job board on their website. You can look through this job board and apply for positions that would be relevant to you. They also have language classes.

  The CSAI can help refugee claimants get work permits necessary to work legally in Canada. They also offer French classes and employment workshops, as well as individual help to help you find a job suitable for you. They also have a program for young people ages 18-30 to help them develop qualifications and skills for employment. If you are a refugee claimant who worked in healthcare during COVID-19, they can also help you with the procedure to apply for PR status.

  In addition to French classes, the CIMOI also offers free help finding employment by organizing meetups for immigrant job-seekers with potential employers. These occur in the format of several 5-minute flash interviews to help you get in contact with different employers. They can also help polish interview skills, CVs, and cover letters.
