Poison Control Centre

This is an emergency phone line in case of intoxication or poisoning. They provide information about toxic products and treatments and referrals to the nearest hospital. Their emergency line is available 24/7.

SOS Domestic Violence

SOS Domestic Violence helps victims and survivors of domestic violence escape their situations and find support. They can also help you recognize if the situation you are experiencing is violence. 

Info-Santé  

811 

Info-Santé 811 is a free and confidential telephone consultation service. Calling this number puts you in contact with a nurse who will evaluate your health situation and give advice based on your condition in the case of a non-urgent health issue. If you are experiencing an urgent health issue, it is important to call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. It is available 24/7.

Info-Sociale is a free and confidential telephone consultation service to be put in touch with a psychosocial worker quickly if you have a psychosocial problem. They can give advice, answer questions, and refer you to other services, if necessary. It is available 24/7.

COVID-19 Information Hotline

The Québec Government’s information hotline on COVID-19 is available Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 you can contact this phone number to receive medical advice. 

Official City Portal of Montreal

This is the place to contact for any questions about municipal services. They are available by phone Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Greater Montreal Information

211 

211 Greater Montréal’s mission is helping through information. They refer callers towards socio-community resources near your home that can meet your needs: food and material aid, homecare services, services for seniors and newcomers, support to families, and more. You can also consult their online directory of socio-community organizations. They are available everyday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

City Council and City Hall

City Council is Montréal’s primary decision-making body. It adopts municipal budgets, by-laws, programs, subsidies and governmental agreements. You can watch City Council meetings live (in French) or submit a question to City Council. You can also ask for a public consultation on an issue that concerns you. City Hall has been closed to the public for renovations since May 2019.
