Skating can be a fun, inexpensive family activity, especially in wintertime. The link above shows a list of outdoor skating rinks by neighbourhood along with their respective conditions. Most outdoor rinks are free to use, but you may need to rent skates and a helmet if you do not have your own.
Sledding

The link above provides sledding hills and their conditions by neighbourhood. Please note that there might be popular sledding locations in your neighbourhood even if they are not mentioned on the web page. The most important things to be careful of are not to run onto the road and to avoid collisions with trees, posts, and other sledders. In many popular sledding locations, trees and posts will have mats to limit the impact of any potential collisions.
YMCAs
https://athome.ymcaquebec.org/
YMCAs are intergenerational and cultural hubs that bring the community together around innovative physical, cultural and social activities available at low cost. While the physical locations are currently closed due to COVID-19, they continue to offer online language classes for children and adults, fitness classes, training to become a certified counsellor for activities like summer camps, and a wide range of suggestions for activities to do with children and teenagers. You can find your local YMCA on the website to see which activities are available in person once public health guidelines allow it.
